Wheel Fun believes that the health and well-being of young children is the foundation for developing strong communities. They aim to improve the emotional, mental, and social states of rural Arizona youth by teaching life skills, encouraging physical activity, and spending time outside.

In 2018, Wheel Fun was merely a program under Verde Valley Cyclists Coalition, receiving its first grant from ACF of Yavapai County. Within a year, Wheel Fun established its own 501(c)(3) and became certified as an Arizona Qualifying Charitable Organization, serving 80 Verde Valley youth. Currently, with a focus on rural communities, Wheel Fun serves 2000 Title I students annually in 10 Arizona counties.

Aside from a good time, the students are supplied with items and education vital to Wheel Fun's mission. This includes bikes, helmets, trail stewardship, nutrition education, coach training, and mentorship. In the fall of 2025, an upcoming bike club is to launch at Ft. Thomas Elementary School in Graham County, serving grades 4-6; 97% of the student population is Native American.

"ACF has been with us from the very beginning, believing in our mission before we fully believed in ourselves," said Kevin Adams, Wheel Fun Board Treasurer. "Over seven years, ACF has been more than a funder, it’s been a trusted partner, opening doors, strengthening our community ties, and helping us turn ideas into real impact for kids."

To continue the positive impact Wheel Fun fosters for Arizona's youth, $40,000 in annual post-secondary scholarships goes to student alumni through Logan's Hero Dirt Fund, a component fund of ACF. The first scholarship was awarded in the spring of 2025 to Witten Armstrong, who was part of the Wheel Fun's inception at Oak Creek School in Cornville in 2018.

Coach, I will be honest, my husband and I stayed up late… just talking about the blessings you have brought to our family. We truly have no words. Thank you, thank you for taking care of our family.
