The Arizona Community Foundation (“ACF”) is committed to maintaining the privacy, confidentiality, integrity, and security of Confidential Information entrusted to us by current and potential donors, community partners, grant applicants and recipients, scholarship applicants and recipients, vendors, independent contractors, board members, volunteers, and staff members (“Stakeholder(s)”), as well as the Personal Data of Stakeholders and of others who access our website.

This Data Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how ACF collects, uses, and discloses the Confidential Information and Personal Data that Stakeholders provide to us directly or through our website, our online portals or other technology systems, as well as the Personal Data of others who access our website others. It also describes the choices available to Stakeholders regarding provision of Confidential Information.

"Confidential Information" collected from Stakeholders may include materials regarding individuals and their family members, advisors, and business interests; contribution histories; charitable gift information; estate plans; trusts, wills; tax information; letters; grant files; contracts; agreements; notes; notebooks; reports; memoranda; budgets; and financial statements. Confidential Information may include information received verbally or in writing, during or after a person or organization’s association with ACF.

“Personal Data” is information that identifies you or can be used to identify or contact you, for example: your name, email address, address, usage data, phone numbers, unique device identifiers, company affiliation (if any);  log data, such as network and connection information (including Internet Service Provider (ISP) and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses), device and browser identifiers and information (including device, application, or browser type, version, plug-in type and version, operating system, user agent, language and time zone settings, and other technical information), advertising identifiers, cookie identifiers and information, and similar data; usage metrics (including usage rates, occurrences of technical errors, diagnostic reports, settings preferences, backup information), content interactions (including searches, views, downloads, and prints), and user journey history (including clickstreams and page navigation, URLs, timestamps, content viewed or searched for, page response times, page interaction, and similar data.

Please note that our website and its content are not directed to children under the age of 13 years, and we do not collect any personal information from anyone who we know to be under the age of 13 years. Personal information submitted by a person over the age of 13 and under the age of 18 will be assumed to have been submitted under the supervision and consent of that person’s parent or guardian.

This Data Privacy Policy is only applicable in the United States and is aligned with all prevailing United States privacy laws and standards.

This Policy may change over time, so please reread it from time to time. Changes to this Policy will be posted at this URL and will be effective immediately when posted, and your continued access/use of the website, our online portals and/or our other technology systems means that you consent to changes to this Policy. If you do not agree with the terms in this Policy or any changes to it, please do not use the ACF website, portals or other technology systems, and do not provide any information to us.

Stakeholder Privacy

ACF pledges to keep confidential all nonpublic Stakeholder Confidential Information unless otherwise required by law. Each ACF board member, staff member, committee member, volunteer, and independent contractor is required to sign a statement affirming that they agree to comply with ACF's policies regarding Stakeholder Confidential Information.

  • ACF does not provide, share, exchange, rent, or sell any Stakeholder Confidential Information to any outside source.
  • ACF does not send Stakeholder mailings on behalf of other organizations.
  • ACF protects Stakeholder rights to privacy and anonymity. We will not disclose information about individual Stakeholders without prior consent.
  • Stakeholders included in ACF’s electronic distribution lists may opt-out of future communications at any time by notifying ACF through identifiable and convenient tools linked to our communications systems.

Stakeholder Demographic Information

Demographic data enable ACF to analyze the makeup of Stakeholder subgroups and assess the impact and reach of ACF’s services. Therefore, Stakeholder subgroups may be invited to provide demographic information, such as (but not limited to) age, race, ethnicity, language, and gender identity, through ACF grant or scholarship applications, as well as other ACF surveys or reports. Stakeholder provision of demographic data is optional and is not a condition of engagement with ACF. Aggregated subgroup demographic information may be shared publicly in ACF reporting or analysis. Demographic data will never be disaggregated at the individual level or shared in a personally identifiable manner. Organization-level demographic data may be shared with ACF donors and other funding partners when that information is relevant to collaborative service strategies or common funding goals.

Collection and Use of Personal Data and Confidential Information

Stakeholders visiting the ACF website, online portals, and/or ACF’s other technology systems may be asked to disclose Confidential Information, and ACF may also collect Personal Data from Stakeholders and others visiting the ACF website. ACF follows generally accepted standards to protect Personal Data and the Confidential Information submitted to us, both during transmission and once received, to protect information technology systems from being accessed by unauthorized users. ACF takes reasonable precautions and has security measures in place to ensure that all systems, services, and equipment used for storing, processing or transmitting data meet acceptable security standards, and performs regular checks and scans to ensure security hardware and software is functioning properly, to prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the correct use of information. ACF initially and periodically evaluates third-party services utilized to store and/or process data to confirm that they meet these standards. However, despite ACF’s best efforts, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be fully secure.

We will only use and/or disclose Personal Data about you for legitimate business purposes, such as to provide information about our programs and services and to communicate with you; for internal research and development purposes, such as data analysis; when needed for our employees, agents and contractors to operate, maintain, improve, increase efficiency of, or correct a technical problem with, the ACF website, online portals or other technology systems, or to process payments; to detect and prevent fraud and abuse; to comply with the law and our legal obligations, including to respond to a request or order from a court, regulator, or government authority, or to assist law enforcement agencies to assist in identifying individuals who have been engaged in, may be engaged in, or be the victim of unlawful activities; and to effectuate the sale, merger, acquisition, or other disposition of ACF or its assets or business.

ACF sites use Google Analytics for web analytics services. Data recorded by Google Analytics may include information such as how users arrived at the ACF site (including the URL Stakeholders or others came from, if they arrived from another site), the user’s network name, the user’s browser type, internet protocol (IP) addresses, which type of internet browsing device users are utilizing, the country, state, and city where the user’s server is located, and the pages that were viewed during the user’s visit to the ACF site.

ACF sites use two specific Google Analytics features: Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting. These features generate information about a user's age, gender, and interests from Google's interest-based advertising or third-party audience data to improve services on ACF's website. This information is tracked using Google's DoubleClick cookie. Data from Google Analytics are not shared publicly.

ACF does not merge any personally identifiable information with non-personally identifiable information previously collected unless Stakeholders have been given notice of and provided prior affirmative (i.e. opt-in) consent to that merger. Google's ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about user’s visits to ACF sites is restricted by the Google Privacy Policy. To provide website visitors more choice on how their data are collected by Google Analytics, Google has developed an Opt-out Browser Add-on, which is available by visiting Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Collection of Other Data

ACF and our service providers may collect and/or track information such as domain names, computer type, browser types, screen resolution, and other statistical data involving the use of this Site (“Monitoring Data”). We use Monitoring Data to help us understand who uses ACF’s website, and to improve and market the website.  We may use Monitoring Data uncombined with Personal Data for any purpose.

Cookies and Other Tools

We may use cookies to enhance the Internet experience on ACF’s website, online portals and other technology systems. Cookies are data that a web server transfers to an individual’s computer for recordkeeping and other purposes. We and our service providers may also use various common Internet tools such as ‘pixel tags,’ ‘action tags,’ ‘web beacons,’ ‘gif tags,’ ‘JavaScript’ or similar technologies (together, “Tools”) in connection with ACF website pages, online portals and email messages. Cookies and Tools are used by us to facilitate access to and use of the ACF website, online portals and other technology systems, to track the actions of users of the website, to determine the success of marketing campaigns, and to compile statistics about website usage, response rates and email opening rates. For example, once you have completed the registration process, a cookie and/or Tool will be used to avoid having you register again. We believe cookies and Tools add value to the user experience.  If you do not want information collected through the use of cookies, please refer to your Internet browser provider’s website, which will provide information about disabling cookies. If cookies are disabled, however, all features of ACF’s website and portals may not operate as intended. by these cookies.

Credit card transactions

ACF partners with GiveGab Enterprise to securely process online credit card payments for Stakeholders that prefer to contribute by credit card. GiveGab’s webpage is not hosted by ACF, and any Personal Data that you provide to GiveGab is subject to GiveGab’s Privacy Policy, rather than this ACF Data Privacy Policy.
