Charley Freericks elected new board chair, Jana Flagler appointed as member
The Arizona Community Foundation welcomes new board chair Charley Freericks, President of the Arizona Region for Howard Hughes Holdings, Inc. Freericks succeeds Leezie Kim, Esq., Chief Legal Officer for Fox Restaurant Concepts LLC, who served as chair since 2023. In addition, Jana Flagler, Esq. attorney at Flagler Law PLLC, was newly appointed as a member.
A member of the Board since 2014, Charley previously served as Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Community Impact Investing Committee and served on the Audit & Compliance, Investment, and Special Assets committees. He now serves as Chair of the Executive and Compensation committees.

We are confident that Charley’s vision and leadership as chair will drive innovation and ensure our impact resonates across Arizona communities for generations to come.”
As president of the Arizona Region for Howard Hughes Holdings Inc., Freericks leads strategy for planning, entitlements, residential and commercial development, leasing, and operations of Teravalis, a 37,000-acre community in the West Valley of Phoenix. A real estate industry veteran with more than 40 years of experience in large-scale community development throughout Arizona, he has also served in numerous nonprofit organizations focused on our community and Arizona.

In addition to electing Freericks as chair, the board also named its slate of officers and elected Jana Flagler, Esq. as a member. Noreen Bishop, Managing Director & Market Manager for Arizona at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, will become the vice chair; Deanna Salazar, Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, will become the treasurer; and Heidi Jannenga, President and Chief Clinical Officer at WebPT, will continue to serve as secretary.
Jana Flagler is an attorney at Flagler Law, PLLC where she handles probate and commercial litigation, business transactions, real property, municipal/governmental, and construction law matters. She provides legal counsel to many nonprofit organizations, including Echoing Hope Ranch and the Malpai Borderlands Group, an ACF nonprofit fundholder. A current member of the State Bar of Arizona, and current member and officer of the Cochise County Bar Association, Flagler has been a licensed attorney in Arizona for 33 years. She is a former member of the State Bar of Arizona Board of Governors and was an appointee to the 2011 Supreme Court Access to Justice Task Force.
“Jana Flagler’s extensive service to the community in southeastern Arizona will be of tremendous value to the Arizona Community Foundation,” said Charley Freericks, incoming chair of the ACF Board of Directors. “She will be a great addition to our board.”
Flagler served on the Arizona Advisory Board for Western Bank. She is currently a director and officer of Southern Arizona Eventing Association, and she serves as a member of the ACF of Cochise Advisory Board. She is a former director for Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Arizona Coalition for the Homeless, Waste Not Warehouse, and Sporting Chance Youth Basketball.
Flagler resides in Bisbee with her husband Christopher and a precocious Blue Cat. She earned her juris doctorate from the University of Arizona James E. Rodgers College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin.
ACF Board members serve three-year terms, renewable up to two times.
