We are thrilled to share that Chelsea Buck-Leilich, Regional Director of the Arizona Community Foundation of Sedona office, has been featured in the Verde Independent. The article, titled “Connecting generosity and need: Chelsea Buck-Leilich shapes philanthropy in the Verde Valley,” beautifully captures Chelsea’s heart for people and her deep commitment to the community she calls home.

A Career Built on Showing Up

Chelsea has spent more than two decades working in the nonprofit world, and her journey is nothing short of inspiring. From supporting families after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans to mentoring teens through AmeriCorps and leading development efforts at a 450-person agency in Southern California, she has always been guided by one simple belief: show up, listen, and connect people.

That same spirit brought her to the Arizona Community Foundation in February 2025. After just over a year as a Regional Philanthropic Advisor, Chelsea was promoted to Regional Director of the ACF of Sedona office — a role she calls her “dream job.”

“There were plenty of days early on where it was a big learning curve, but my rule is that any new thing I’m pursuing, even if it feels hard at the beginning, I’m going to show up. I wouldn’t be who I am today without the support of people cheering me on.”

Bridging Donors and Nonprofits

In her role, Chelsea describes ACF as the connector between “the generosity of donors and the needs of nonprofits.” She regularly visits local organizations, sometimes four or five site visits a month, hearing their stories firsthand and understanding how she can help.

Her authenticity shines in every relationship she builds.

“I really love people. I really want to know about people. That’s so important when working with donors, helping them feel comfortable, and building a true connection.”

Chelsea’s work reflects the very best of what it means to strengthen Arizona communities through giving. We are proud to have her leading our Sedona office and championing the causes that matter most across Sedona and the Verde Valley.
