Michelle Gayles joins ACF as Chief Impact Officer

The Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Gayles as the organization’s first Chief Impact Officer, effective July 8, 2024. In this pivotal role, Michelle will join the Executive Team and report directly to Anna María Chávez, ACF’s President & CEO.

Michelle Gayles brings over 25 years of distinguished leadership in the health and human services, and education sectors. Prior to joining ACF, Gayles served as Chief Strategy Officer at Phoenix Union High School District, where she spearheaded long-term strategic planning, expanded the district’s school portfolio, and ensured equitable access to quality education. Her career also includes a significant role as Vice President of Community Impact at Valley of the Sun United Way, where she led initiatives to ensure success for children, youth, and young adults statewide.

In her new role at ACF, Gayles will oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at fostering statewide growth and community impact. Her responsibilities will include guiding fund development, supporting the ACF regional team and statewide partners, enhancing the donor experience, overseeing community engagement and grantmaking efforts, forging strategic partnerships, and leading marketing and communications outreach in alignment with ACF’s strategic plan.

With Gayles’ appointment, the ACF executive team is now fully formed and structured to execute on the organization’s new strategic plan. Led by President & CEO Anna María Chávez, Esq., the ACF executive team includes:
