Michael Werner
Vice President, Controller
Michael Werner joined the Arizona Community Foundation as Vice President, Controller in April 2026. In his role, he will lead the finance team in overseeing fund accounting for ACF’s funds, while ensuring the accuracy and transparency of financial systems and compliance with federal and state nonprofit regulations.
Prior to ACF, Michael was the Vice President of Finance at Arizona Christian University, where he provided strategic financial leadership across budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, compliance, and enterprise decision support. Earlier in his career, he spent several years at Taylor Street Real Estate Advisors, starting as Property Management Controller and ending as the Senior VP of Finance.
Michael has earned several academic degrees, including a Bachelor’s in Business from Arizona Christian University, a Master’s in Theology/Leadership from Phoenix Seminary, and a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Accounting from Western Governors University. He is a Certified Management Accountant and a recently certified Financial Planning & Analysis Professional.
