Lorenzo Chavez
Executive Director, Education & Scholarships
As Executive Director, Education and Scholarships, Lorenzo Chavez oversees ACF’s scholarship program, education grantmaking through the Ellis Center for Educational Excellence, and public policy engagements related to education.
Prior to ACF, Lorenzo worked for ASU, most recently as Associate Vice President of Outreach Partnerships where he led the university’s strategies to advance educational attainment and economic development. In this role, Lorenzo worked closely with community-based organizations, corporate partners, elected officials, and other community stakeholders to advance ASU’s community impact agenda and increase recruitment and retention of foster youth, Black, Latino, Native American, DACA and students from other underrepresented groups in higher education.
Lorenzo serves on the boards of the Chandler Education Foundation, the Arizona SciTech Council, the Leadership Council of Opportunities for Youth, and is Valley Leadership’s Education Impact Team Lead. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and is currently working on his Doctorate in Education at Northern Arizona University.
