
Richard Morrison

Morrison is a retired attorney whose practice was concentrated in water law, environmental law, and issues facing special taxing districts and agriculture. He serves as an adviser to the Arizona Water Resources Research Center at the University of Arizona, and has been honored for his participation in the successful negotiation and implementation of four water rights settlements with Native American communities in our state. Morrison is co-founder and an emeritus director of the Morrison Institute for Public Policy at Arizona State University. He also provided twenty-one years of service as an ordained clergyman in the Episcopal Church. He earned his law degree from the University of Houston, a Master of Arts degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary, and two honorary doctorates—one from the University of Arizona and one from Northern Arizona University. Most recently, he is credited as being the founder of the Northern Arizona University Institute for Public and Professional Ethics in Leadership.
