The Arizona Community Foundation and the Planned Giving Round Table of Arizona have partnered to host moderated study groups for the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation.
Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy
The Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® is a designation provided by the American College of Financial Services. The CAP® curriculum is designed to provide specialized education in philanthropic planning; giving students the knowledge and tools needed to help clients articulate and advance their highest aspirations for self, family and society. There is a tuition fee associated with the CAP courses, current costs are listed on the enrollment form.
ACF/PGRTAZ CAP Study Group
The ACF/PGRTAZ CAP Study Group is available to CAP students who are seeking to elevate and deepen their study experience through discussions with other CAP candidates across the relevant disciplines of law, accounting, finance and gift planning. In addition to learning through collaborative discourse and real life case studies, study group participants will gain a supportive referral network of like-minded professionals across a broad range of perspectives.

Step 2: Register for the ACF/PGRTAZ CAP Study Group
To ensure a high functioning and meaningful interactive experience, study group participation will be limited to fifteen members. Seats will be reserved on a first come first serve basis for students who have enrolled in the CAP program. A limited number of $500 scholarships from The American College of Financial Services may be available to students who are not reimbursed by their employer and attest to need. If interested in applying for the scholarship, contact The American College of Financial Services for an application.
Note about eligibility: To apply for the CAP designation, you must certify in writing that, for at least three of the five years immediately preceding this application, you have been:
- Actively involved in advising individuals or charitable organizations in any of the following areas: wealth and estate planning, financial planning, charitable planning, charitable giving, planned giving, nonprofit or foundation management or services, investment management of charitable trusts, funds or endowments, or accounting for nonprofit organizations as part of your regular practice or employment OR
- Employed in the nonprofit sector in a capacity related to nonprofit management, development, planned giving, or fundraising.
