Founded in 1993, the Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma secures, manages and allocates donor gifts for charitable purposes in Yuma County, working to improve the quality of life for all residents.
The power of endowment
Gifts to the Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma are held and managed as part of a permanent endowment. Endowed funds maximize donor gifts, improving the welfare of the community today while leaving a legacy for future generations. ACF of Yuma enjoys the advantages and economy of centralized management and administrative resources while the local Board of Advisors brings local knowledge and expertise to address the community’s unique needs. The Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma has over $15.8 million in assets. Since inception, ACF of Yuma has awarded over $7.5 million in grants and scholarships to local nonprofit organizations and students.
The Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma works in close partnership with the Sturges Charitable Trust to fund programs in the areas of health; arts, culture and humanities; and youth development and recreation. The Trust has also made significant contributions to ACF of Yuma’s unrestricted fund for community grantmaking, and established a field of interest fund at ACF of Yuma to provide additional funding through a competitive grant program.
Individuals, families and businesses make tax-deductible charitable gifts in the form of cash, real estate, marketable securities or other assets. Memorial gifts in the name of loved ones, planned gifts and legacies established in end-of-life documents are common ways people can give to the Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma.
