How to support Hurricane Fiona relief in Puerto Rico
Hurricane Fiona made landfall in Puerto Rico on September 18, 2022, knocking out the power grid and unleashing flooding and landslides in communities still recovering from 2017’s Hurricane Maria. Here is a list of organizations that are offering help:
Fundación Comunitaria de Puerto Rico: The Puerto Rico Community Foundation's Community Recovery Fund for Puerto Rico supports the work of nonprofit organizations that are activated to respond to the emergency.
María Fund: Supports the strengthening of a powerful and aligned ecosystem of social justice leaders, organizations and initiatives that are building community power in Puerto Rico.
World Central Kitchen: Provides meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. The organization builds resilient food systems with locally led solutions.
The Center for Disaster Philanthropy: The CDP Atlantic Hurricane Season Recovery Fund supports the medium- and long-term needs of hurricane-affected people and communities. The organization is also hosting a webinar Thursday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m. ET to help foundations, corporations and individual donors learn about the storm, the impact of the devastating flooding and how they can help affected communities.
