IMPORTANT UPDATE: Our Community Response to COVID-19
We are continuing to monitor developments of the global coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak.
Last updated on August 31, 2020
The Arizona Community Foundation takes very seriously the health and well-being of our donors, staff, and communities across the state. With that in mind, ACF has been closely monitoring the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) in response to the developing coronavirus outbreak.
As community supporters, we believe our primary role and responsibility is to ensure community members are cared for during this time of uncertainty. We are in close collaboration with our regional funding partners, our statewide network of community leaders and nonprofit partners to mobilize resources, support, and communications where and when they are most needed. In response to the outbreak, we established the Arizona COVID-19 Community Response Fund to serve communities across the state.
ACF’s Phoenix office is temporarily closed to the public to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We are doing this as a proactive measure to ensure we remain healthy and responsive to your needs. Our dedicated team remains available to lead, serve, and collaborate from our home offices.
Below we’ve provided updates on steps we are taking to address any impact the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) may have on upcoming events and operations.
We will provide additional updates and recommendations as necessary in the coming days and weeks via email, our website, and social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
Frequently Asked Questions
What is happening with ACF grantmaking?
ACF grantmaking continues uninterrupted. Dollars budgeted for distribution in 2020 are protected from short-term market fluctuations like what we experienced in March, and may see in the future. We are staying in close contact with our philanthropic partners and service providers in local communities to addressing the immediate needs of the community as they emerge. We will continue to monitor developments daily.
There are multiple grant funding opportunities currently available for small businesses and nonprofits experiencing financial hardship during COVID-19.
What is your advice to ACF donors?
We are closely monitoring the fast-moving developments of this outbreak, which represents challenges on several fronts: public health and safety, economic stability, and community service delivery.
In response to the outbreak, we have established the Arizona COVID-19 Community Response Fund. These funds support the health and well-being of those most directly affected by the COVID-19 outbreak through the nonprofits who serve the community. Learn how you can support these statewide efforts.
In total, the Arizona COVID-19 Community Response Fund has awarded over $7 million in grants to nearly 700 organizations. See a complete list of COVID-19 grant awards.
What is ACF's approach to events and convenings?
To protect community health and that of our staff, we are postponing all events hosted by ACF or within our community meeting space for the time being and requiring remote meetings, over the phone or via video chat, whenever possible to minimize non-essential personal contact. We are assessing this situation as it develops and will provide timely notification of any future adjustments to planned meetings or events. More information is available on our Events page. If you have questions about events or meetings, please contact Michael Ponzio at email@example.com or 602.682.2068.
Please reach out to your relationship manager or any ACF staff member with any questions or concerns that you may have.
