Roy Graydon wins a 2017 Mercedes-Benz
Roy Graydon is the winner of the DMCF 2017 Mercedes-Benz Raffle.
Roy Graydon is the lucky winner whose name was plucked from the bowl during the drawing for the DMCF 2017 Mercedes-Benz Raffle held in January.
"When I got the call, we were just heading into a movie," Roy said. "My reaction was 'Are you kidding me?!!!' When I got off the phone, my wife said to me, ’It was probably a telemarketing call.' It wasn’t until the next day that we actually said, ‘Yup, this is for real!’ "
"I am 100% in support of the goals and objectives of the Desert Mountain Community Foundation," Roy went on to say. "I think that you do very good work and I will contribute again."
The DMCF Board of Advisors sponsored the DMCF 2017 Mercedes-Benz Raffle as part of their effort to build an endowment, making it possible to award at least $25,000 annually in perpetuity.
DMCF and Pinnacle Aviation collaborate again
to raise money for scholarships
The Desert Mountain Community Foundation and Scottsdale-based Pinnacle Aviation, in partnership with the Desert Mountain Golf Professionals, presented the Third Annual Pinnacle Aviation Putting Challenge fundraising event with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the DMCF Scholarship Fund.
Saturday, April 1, was a cool and beautiful Arizona day, with Putting Challenge participants competing on the 20-putt Cochise/Geronimo putting green during Desert Mountain’s golf product Demo Day. Each golfer donated $100 for 20 putts—5 putts on four designated putting holes.
Dan Wolski, our 2017 Putting Champion won by sinking 12 of 20 putts. Dan's winnings included a $500 credit in the Desert Mountain Golf Shop, along with a beautifully inscribed silver-plated Champion’s trophy. He joins 2015 Champion Greg Castor and 2016 Champion Keith Reese in the record book.
Dan also earned a shot at the 50-foot putt to win an all-expense paid, luxury private jet trip for eight to his choice of Bandon Dunes, Pelican Hills or Jackson Hole, valued at over $50,000. Dan lined up and put a good stroke on the long putt. The ball rolled smoothly on-line, breaking slightly toward the hole from left to right coming to rest short of the cup. It was a gallant attempt and a fun showing for the cheering spectators. /p>
Each of the contestants who participated in the Third Annual Pinnacle Aviation Putting Challenge received a dozen Titleist Pro V1x golf balls and their names were entered into a raffle for a putter or driver. Chris Wilson was the lucky raffle winner and chose a driver.
