In preparation for their annual competitive grants processes, the Arizona Community Foundation of Cochise invites representatives of local nonprofit organizations, public schools, government agencies and Tribal entities to attend one of three upcoming grant workshops in Douglas, Willcox and Sierra Vista. Topics to be covered at the workshops include application instructions, eligibility requirements, guidelines and an overview of the online grants center and application process. All three workshops will take place in early April. The content to be delivered at each workshop is the same; attend any workshop that works best for your schedule.
The Douglas Grant Application Workshop is scheduled for Monday, April 3, and will take place at the Cochise College, Douglas Campus from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. To register for this workshop, visit cochiseapril03.eventbrite.com.
The Willcox Grant Application Workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4, and will take place at the Valley TeleCom Building from 10:00 a.m. to noon. To register for this workshop, visit willcoxapril04.eventbrite.com.
The Sierra Vista Grant Application Workshop is scheduled for Friday, April 7, and will take place at the Cochise College, Sierra Vista Campus from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. To register for this workshop, visit sierravistaapril07.eventbrite.com. Registration is required and space is limited. The workshops are free and open to all nonprofit representatives.
The Arizona Community Foundation of Cochise accepts funding requests from qualified nonprofit organizations, government agencies and Tribal entities in amounts ranging from $250 to $5,000. Grant applicants must provide services within Cochise County.
The 2017 competitive grants process will begin Monday, April 10, with final applications due no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8. Additional information about the grants process is available at www.azfoundation.org/grants.

The Arizona Community Foundation of Cochise brought together volunteers, donors and nonprofit organizations at the annual Cochise Celebrates Giving community celebration on Tuesday, October 4, on the Sierra Vista Campus of Cochise College. The annual event showcases the work of local nonprofits and volunteers and celebrates the contributions of local philanthropists working to improve the quality of life in Cochise County
The third annual Carol Huddleston Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Chuck Hoyack for his outstanding contributions to the community in and around Douglas. Peach’s Pantry was recognized as the 2016 Nonprofit Organization of the Year. Nominations for both awards were received from local community members and winners were selected by a committee of volunteers from Cochise County.
This year, ACF of Cochise and its collaborative grant partner, the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona, awarded over $107,000 in grants to 31 local community organizations to support projects that will improve the lives of children, families and veterans as well as protect animals and preserve the environment.
